Glad I picked up more than one can as this is now my new favorite product from Castle Island. The addition of rye to the ingredients list makes it significantly different in both body and flavor from most Pale Ales I've tasted. The 6.9% ABV also helps in this regard. I'm hoping this becomes a regular in the Castle Island portfolio.

Front end brings grapefruit and orange with a solid spicy finish thanks to that malted rye with just the slightest presence of alcohol.
Pours hazy with a thick off white head that leave lace lingering in the glass as you drink.

Canned 10/18/18
Pours a decent fizzy foamy 1 finger head decent retention and little lacing, very hazy and sediment laden tan golden brownish color
Nose very fruity, tons of citrus, grapefruit, orange, creamy wheat malt, candied stone fruit apricot peach, caramel sweet malt note, little fruity rye hint of alcohol
Taste mild sweet candy malt, caramel sweetness with spicy and fruity rye and plenty of it, fair bitterness as hops bring little spicy grassy out front, then rind and pith, grapefruit, citrus, mild candied stone fruit like canned peaches, plenty of grapefruit pith esp late, drier finish very bitter like chewing on grapefruit rind, little spicy rye and spicy hop
Mouth is med bod, flash of alcohol late, decent carb
Overall not bad, alcohol was a bit too present, hops and malts are decent, nice bitterness for apa
