On tap at their brewpub in South Boston. Advertised as barrel aged for 11 months.
Brown and clear. Modest head that leaves small streaks and spots on the glass.
Deep mostly sweet cocoa and chocolate. Light alcohol.
More gritty than the smell suggests with what seems to be a touch of black patent malt. The sweetness, while still present, is subdued. Notes of vanilla and dried stone fruit prevail. Richer body for a brown ale. Ample carbonation. Long semisweet chocolate aftertaste.
