A nitro-chocolate raspberry Porter served at the brewpub in South Boston.
Light barely passes from the dark brown color. Dense foam that creates blanketing lace.
Fresh crushed raspberries deliciously dominates the initial smell. Leans sweet but with little chocolate I’d expect. I do pick up a little darker toast.
Semisweet with a notable chocolate vibe. The raspberry is also strong making this beer equivalent to a raspberry chocolate truffle. Extremely smooth from the nitro-pour. The richness adds to the experience. A superb dessert beer. Simply put, this is a superior brewer— the best I’ve had from Castle Island.
