Crystal clear with a deeper gold color. Served without a head. The rim bubbles do provide some minor lacing.
Part earthy, part sour, this is a funky smell for a pilsner. Mostly pale malt nose with little to no hop.
The earthy tones are upfront on the tongue but they fade as the bittering hop kicks in. Full bodied with lower carbonation. The finish has a touch of lactose to balance the black pepper bitterness. Shorter aftertaste.
