This Southern Style India Pale Ale was brewed to showcase our full-flavored corner of the country. Created as a collaboration to celebrate the Southern Brewers Conference on August 3-6, 2016 in Nashville, TN, many of the people who helped make this conference a reality influenced the character of this beer. Cheers!

This is a strange version of an IPA. Slight haze/gold color, some fruity tropical aromas. It honestly tastes like it was fermented with a Belgian saison yeast though. There is a spicy/funk taste that is not working for this beer, maybe this batch picked up some other yeast/bugs in packaging. Based on the other great reviews I will try and seek out another sample to see if this was an anomaly.

I love this beer! Fruity-pineapple and citrus. A nice balance of hop bitterness and the dank aftertaste is much more subdued than I was expecting. My fav has been Cigar City Jai Alai, but this could replace it.
My only concern is there was a fair amount of particulate matter suspended in the beer. It looks like yeast from my home brew days. I'm calling Mantra tomorrow to find out. Anyone else find this?

Nice ipa with some serious flavor going on without too much bitterness or sweetness, nice balance..

Has a lot of citrus zest/ mango type smell and taste , a mild sweet malt kills most of the hop bitterness and lets the flavors shine thru before your palate is wrecked. It does finish bitter but not mouth puckering or dry.

This is a full flavor and decent abv that is sessionable, most ipas with this much going on aren't crushable like this one..

On draft at local bar. 16 ounce pour.

Golden-copper in color. Opaque. Slightly cloudy. One finger off-white frothy head that slowly dissipates to nice ring and thin cap. Decent lacing.

Aroma is as the name says juicy and dank. Orange, pineapple, mango, dank, and pine. More subdued than I expected.

Taste follows the nose with the emphasis on the dankness. Fruity initially followed by big dank and some resinous pine flavors.

Medium body and carbonation. Mildly bitter and dank aftertaste.

More dank than juicy but overall a very good IPA. I will definitely have this again and look forward to trying more from Mantra Artisan Ales.

This is a delicious take on an IPA. There is a slight funk which shows the propensity for the "Dank". The hops are slightly muted, giving the brew a great drinkability.

Dec 26th 2016 - picked up a few cans st brewery. Tall boy poured into snifter.

Look is slightly hazy (could be cloudier IMO with a bit more wheat and/oat), but a nice orange gold nonetheless.

Smells just like the name, big, juicy and dank. Taste follows smell. Perfect amount of bitterness, it's there not overly done. Well done late additions of hops (mosaic being one I'm guessing).

Overall this is the top one of two Tenn IPA's.
Mantra- jack up the production of this guy. $$$ to be made for sure. This will create a good following.

Looks the part of an aggressive IPA as it creates about an inch of beige head over a translucent, dingy orange beer.

Immediately I get orange rind from this thing as I breathe it in. From there it fades off into a little grassy, and just a little peppery.

First thing I note is a pretty aggressive level of carbonation that does a good job of diffusing the orange presence, which sure enough, is there. I've had several IPAs that suggested a juicy character, but this is the first that really delivered. Beyond orange I get just a bit of grassiness that the nose spoke of with a bitter finish that reminds me of actually eating an orange rind.

Finish is thin, neither dry nor "wet" and leaves very little aftertaste.

Terrific beer!

Poured into a snifter. A moderately hazy golden/light amber color with a frothy white head. The foam stayed for a while before settling into a nice thin cap. The aroma was there but not overpowering. Orange, pineapple, and mango dominated the nose, with some subtle herbal/dank notes and some dough. The taste was definitely as billed. Huge fruity flavor up front resembling tangerines and Mandarin oranges. Flavors then shifted to highlight blueberries, pine, and resin. The bitterness was firm but not extreme, building through the swallow, and leaving me with a lingering pleasant dank aftertaste. Medium-bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. I hope they do this one again.
