Left-over from GABF judging given to me as a reward for my volunteer efforts. Entered as 3B - American-style Hefeweizen. Pours a finger of tan head that settles quickly to a ring around the glass. Liquid is dark-coppered brown. Smells brown malt, munich, and chocolate. Pineapple and lemon are mild.
Tastes wet with drying hop grassiness and blackberry hop flavor. Dark grains and md-heavy hops work well together. Powdered brownie mix. Bit of spicy zing, almost of nutmeg and cinnamon. Finish dries, partly due to the minimal, but sharp carbonation. Decent drinkability, but could use more fruitiness and less carb sting to be more balanced.
