Had on-tap at the Oak Creek brewery in Sedona.

L: Pours a clear deep reddish amber color with two fingers of off-white head.

S: Biscuits and toasty malts. Citrus and evergreen from the hops.

T/F: Malt forward with baked bread and citrus. More of a hop presence than expected for an amber, almost pushing into IPA territory. Medium body with good carbonation. A bit warming with the EtOH.

O: A solid Imperial Amber, bordering on an IPA. Packs a punch at 8% ABV. Easy to drink. Not spectacular but a well brewed beer.

On tap at the Oak Creek Brewery & Grill in Sedona.

Pour was reddish amber, very clear, with a remarkably durable, creamy, tan head. The head has a bit of red too. Glass is coated even 30 minutes after pouring. Simply great looking beer!

Aroma: smells like an IPA, although a tiny bit more malty than average.

Taste follows: clearly an Imperial Red, this is strongly flavored with a huge hop component and moderate-high bitterness. Given that, good balance.

Medium-full body with a touch of higher ABV harshness and heat. Lightly dry finish.

O: a very bold and hoppy red that is more like an IPA than an amber/red.
