my first beer from these guys, an enormously interesting brew. a simple english pale type underneath, but this is jazzed up with all sorts of indian spices. i smell things like kaffir lime leaf and lemongrass and cardamom in here, although i am not entirely sure what all they use in it. its hard to call it an ipa or even a pale to me, the hop profile is pretty minimal, especially compared to the spices in here, but its hard to be critical of something this unique and well executed. these are daring flavors, bold and big, and the base beer seems right to support them, i woudnt want it to be any more hoppy than it is, and there seems to be a spice or herb derived bitterness here filling in for the hops in that way, i dont miss them. i like the english grain base, it helps keep this beery. the spices are intense. clove, lime leaf for sure, cardamom, maybe some orange, maybe some coriander too, lots going on but it really does come together well. more than just a tasty novelty too, i would drink several pints of this without getting burnt out. really clever and well done! looks like lots of interesting beers from these guys...

Had on tap. Might be the least hoppy ipa I have ever had. Even the wife said she couldn't taste any bitterness, and she does not like biter hops at all. Instead it is spicy in the taste in a soft sense with the 3 c's: cardamom, coriander, clove. There is a bit of a sumac taste from the kaffir lime as well. The smell is clove and cardamom heavy. Overall interesting, but don't tell me it is an ipa.
