This barrel-aged Tripel is aged for 7 months in Port wine and whiskey barrels. At 10.1% its relatively high ABV for a Euro beer but drinks much smoother. You'd think it was closer to 7 or 8% based on taste alone. You get nice sweet, fruit notes from the Port barrel but a nice woody, rich finish from the whiskey that pairs well with the natural yeastiness of the tripel. good stuff!
