Poured into a BrewDog snifter.
A: Body is dark and rich as it shows a little dark brown hue that also appears on the foam once it's forced to show up. After pouring it from a high standpoint, the head shown a good retention.
S: The aroma is very good with notes of vanilla, milk, cinnamon letting us know this is more of a pastry stout than a regular Imperial Stout. In the back there's a sense of barrel aging but despite being barrel aged in 5 different barrels, it's not clear what stands out.
T: Taste is great with a sweet beginning with notes of lactose and vanilla, lightly touching the cinnamon (see beer Casamentos & Baptizados from Dois Corvos as it seems to be the same base) and then it progresses to a not overwhelming at all barrel presence and complexity. Despite having many stages, the beer has been rounded and shows no overpowered profile of barrels or too much alcohol.
M: Body is high. Carbonation is mild. Sweetness is medium high as bitterness is medium low. Alcohol is barely felt.
O: This is just another great stout from the great people at Dois Corvos. Congratulations on your 5th birthday.
