Dois Corvos Cervejeira "GoldenVisa"
12 fl. oz. can coded "BA1ZosZ3 05 2028". Sampled on 26.11.2024
9€ at the brewery on 21.11.2024
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a black body beneath a minimal head of dark tan. There's clearly not a lot of carbonation to it. The aroma is loaded with roasty coffee but I also get some fruitiness, rum, and Bourbon. The taste follows the aroma with some additional coconut and oak. I'm not particularly finding cocoa but that's not surprising given the richness of the malt. It's roasty but also sweet and chocolatey. The fruitiness makes a great counterpoint and then the Bourbon, oak, rum, and coconut give it extra character. It doesn't seem very bitter but it's always hard to tell when there's som much maltiness. It finishes fruity, coconut-like, oaky, roasty, chocolatey, and then mildly bitter with the coconut returning. Of course that's just one go-round and it can change from sip to sip. In the mouth it's medium-full in body and creamy-smooth with a very moderate carbonation level. I actually wish it had a little more carbonation but to be honest I'm not exactly sure if that would improve it any.
