a solid pils here, my first from these guys, made entirely from colorado grown and malted grain, which is awesome, especially in a lighter style where you can really taste it like this. i was surprised by the quality of the beer in here for how little you ever hear about these guys. golden in color, not quite radiant in clarity, but pretty well cleaned up, short white head on top. aroma is fresh on the malt side, a little more distinct than most, richer without being sweet, earthy, hearty even for a lighter beer. the hops are all sterling, which i dont know much about, but have a noble complexion to me here, grassy and slightly spicy with a lime note like i often get from saaz, i can taste the greenness but in a freshness way not in an overdosed tastes like pellets modern ipa kind of way. good balance, snappy finish, a pretty clean lagering, although its not as dry as it could be, nor as crisp, high carbonation helps keep it drinkable and refreshing. a tasty beer overall, and a cool showcase of this colorado malt. a little more robust than normal in the style.
