A new pack available at my liquor store. This one is refreshing but not the best beer I had from Rickard's.
Rickard's have always fascinating me and they still continue to do with this one. I'll have it again for sure.

Bottle: Poured a clear copper color ale with a small foamy head with limited retention and no lacing. Aroma of light dry citrusy hops notes with some light caramel malt also noticeable. Taste is a mix of watery caramel malt notes with subtle dry hoppy notes. Body is light with light carbonation. Short on flavours which is not that surprising.

Rickard's Red IPA from Molson Coors Canada
Look: red-golden color with 1 finger of white head.
Smell: hops and malt with some citrus and apple
Taste: Hops and malt. with a touch of citrus and orange.
Feel: Pretty smooth, medium body, nice easy drinking IPA
So overall would I recommend it ? Sure its not a bad beer but its not a great beer, its a good average IPA beer.

341ml bottle
Appearance - nice pour, thick goldish head. red-golden liquid.
Smell - nice citra smell, strong
Taste - you can taste the citra hop, not too strong for an IPA but surprising.
Mouthfeel - smooth and crispy, not really bitter
Overall - best macro IPA I have tasted so far.

In the words of Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys, this beer is pretty frickin' decent! It pours a light amber, with a reasonable amount of whitish head that lingers, then forms small islands. The smell is faint orange and evergreen - quite subtle (or perhaps undestated). There is no doubt this is a relative of Rickard's Red - the malt base is unmistakable. The hops are present, but not distinctive enough to push this past the status of "Hopped Red Ale". Overall, though, nice work Molson Coors Canada. Package this with Red & Dark in a mixer pack, and it would be in my regular rotation!

Maybe it's the low expectations I had going in, but this one actually left me pleasantly surprised: perhaps "red IPA" is a poor style designation, but as a moderately hopped amber/red ale, it's quite nice--decently citrus and pine aromas, nice balance of sweet and bitter/spice on the taste--some bread, caramel, dough, pine, citrus. Feel is even pretty decent (though perhaps a bit thin), and the carbonation reasonable.
Honestly, slap a different brewery on the label, and people would be putting this into their beer rotations. It's nice!

473 ml can served at clear temperature into an Upper Canada Brewing pint glass. Thanks to Dan for the Christmas gift.
Appearance - clear amber coloured beer and with the vented can crated a nice looking pour. Impressive two fingers of foamy white head, good retention and a swath of lacing wrapped around the glass. Limited visible carbonation.
Smell - not a big nose, but what I can pick up is citrus forward some ripe pineapple and papaya, apple skin and a dank note in behind. Not super complex, but pretty respectable.
Taste - quite limited, some general happiness, but hard to identify a fruit. It's trying to be tropical, but hard to nail down any specific flavours. Maybe some grapefruit and again apple shows up with strange bolt of bitterness mid sip.
Mouthfeel - smooth, with a full body and carbonation is a bit lacking, the body almost has a syrupy characteristic which doesn't work for me with a 5.7% ABV IPA.
Overall - a decent passable IPA, that as others here have alluded to, serves as an acceptable gateway to craft. While I won't hurry out to pick this up again, Molson Coors could have done significantly worse with this offering,

Pours bright, clear red with a long lasting, compact head. Grapefruit, pine and toasted malts in the nose. Citrusy, orangey hops take the lead in the taste, followed by a caramel, bready malt counterpart. The mouthfeel is quite light and the finish is shortlived and light on the bitterness.
This is better and hoppier than I was expecting, but still a bit restrained with a somewhat bland malt character. I don't think I'll seek this out again, too many better IPAs out there.

Purchased at The Beer Store for around $2.50 for a 473ml can. Served at 5deg C in a draught glass
A- Opens well and pours a 1/2" high white head that is gone in seconds. Very dark gold colour and turning red. Filtered
S- Good hops and malt here.
T- Hops and malt. Nothing special but nice from this company considering most of their brews are mass produced swill but this one is not bad.
M- Very nothing special
O- Pretty good mass produced brew. Not my go to brew but not offensive
Food Pairing
This ok brew went well with....... Chinese stir fry with a touch of hot sauce with the veggies.
Enjoy!
