I tried a 5oz glass of this beer off the tapper at the Brewing as past of a five sample flight. It poured an opaque dark with thin tan head that did not leave much lace. The scent had nice peanut butter cup notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to sip. There was chocolate malt and peanut butter presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Look: It pours dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is average.

Smell: Strong peanut butter aroma up front. There are also supporting nut notes.

Taste: It has strong nut and peanut butter flavor with some chocolate. There are some very low roast notes.

Feel: It has a medium body with a sweet finish.

Overall, great beer if you like peanut butter, but I would have like to see a bit more in the mix of flavors.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate dark chestnut brown + dark cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall foamy dark tan head that reduces to a large patch of thin film covering a little more than 85% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger then moderate aromas of peanut butter over the top of moderate aromas of roasted + chocolate + toasted + caramel malts with a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. Hints of earthy hops.

T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasted + chocolate + toasted + caramel malts with a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. That was followed by moderate to strong flavors of peanut butter. Finally there is a very light flavor of earthy hops. Light to moderate amounts of roasty bitterness which slowly fade away leaving lingering roasted peanut butter flavor.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.

O: Easy to drink with low ABV (which is well hidden) and a pleasantly smooth mouthfeel. Kind of an old school base milk stout with some peanut butter added - enjoyable.
