Birrificio Artigianale Borgo al Cornio "Il Duomo"
33 cl brown glass bottle, (best by) 06 16 and sampled on 2 December 2015
Notes: Doppiomalto. Refermented in the bottle with added cane sugar. Clear amber body beneath a frothy off-white head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma of gently caramelish malt and Belgian yeast. The flavor follows: richly malty and sweetish, fruity, and gently spicy. Medium-full in body and creamy smooth with a fine-bubbled, natural carbonation that gently bristles the tongue before warming to become more airy and then smooth. It manages to finish dry despite the sweetish malt with a stiff bitterness, yeasty spiciness, and a delicate spritz of alcohol.
