Into a pils glass, dated 8/14/24.
Pours a perfectly clear pale gold with a nice white head and a ton of bubbles. Nose is some white bread and honey, not crazy aromatic, but pleasant. Flavor is crisp and clean with a nice smooth malt taste that ranges from biscuit to sourdough, as well as a minty snap on the end. Some lemongrass as well and a hefty bitterness. Very nice all around. Feel is crispy, very bright and lots of bubbles.
Good stuff from Smith and Lentz. It's a classic German pils with a very distinct Nashville flavor on the malt character.

Any measure of a German styled brewery begins and ends with their German-Styled Pilsner. Smith & Lentz is one such brewery and their German PIls is one such beer.
The Lager comes with a strikingly bright and sparkling light gold with notions of chrome to the eye. As a lofty white cap builds on the rim, the spicy hop scent of fresh grasses, herbs, citrus and blossoms arise to the nose. Sweeter though on the tongue, a brisk malt profile of fresh bread, powdered sugar and fresh grain is touch and then go.
As the sweetness lifts, there's a clean grain flavor that remains in the slimmest savory way. Trending from floral, the hops grow on the middle palate with a light lemon and apple character and then developing a snappy hop taste of lemongrass, parsley and mint in a pleasantly grassy bitterness.
Medium-light, dry, crisp and boldly hopped for the style, the PIlsner finishes highly refreshing and quite characterful, quenching any thirst with ease. When freshness matters, this beer is giving East Nashvillians a quality and classic taste of Bavaria in their own back yard.

Had German Pils at the Smith & Lentz taproom, Nashville, on draft into pilsner glass.
The name is as unpretentious as the beer. Crisp, malty, classic pilsner.

Sampled this beer at Picnic Tap in the Famer's Market in Nashville; part of a 4 beer flight. Light yellow body with a single finger white head. Crisp clean taste with a pleasing combination of malt & hops. Excellent example of the german style.

In a Pilsener glass, a lightly hazy golden color with a thick and looong lasting white head. Nice floral nose with some bread. Clean, clean taste with slightly sweet grain, bread, and somewhat bitter floral hops. Clean finish and no off flavors. Currently my favorite Pils in Nashville.
