A crushable porter with some chocolate in the aroma. Not too bitter and not too dry of a finish.

 

I tried this at the brewery. It was midland from the eight I tried. Nice scent of mocha with taste to match. Very easy to drink.

This is the standout beer from the flight. I came here predisposed from all the reviews to slam every beer I had but this one is a solid, commendable beer. A dark balk brown liquid with a brownish head that while small was respectable in its construct. Nose was solid with a predominance of coffee. Some light molasses and dark grains as well but mostly good coffee. Taste followed with a solid coffee and light brown sugar and molasses flavor. Not sophisticated but straightforward and delicious. No, really, delicious. This seemingly lackluster brewpub turned out a solid and enjoyable brew. Feel was light and crisp while maintaining a porter chew. This is a go to beer when it's around. Surprisingly good given the reviews.

 

 

Appearance: Black. Minimal head.
Smell: Chocolate and vanilla.
Taste: Same as taste.

This is really good and smooth. A very nice chocolate and a touch of vanilla throughout. Perhaps a little thin, a little dry, but really good. The smell is very inviting. Too bad this is only in Hilton Head. I would get this again.
