This beer was awful! As a homebrewer, I can confidently say from experience that these guys used some old/oxidized hops that gave off that textbook astringent rotten walnut flavor and aroma. When the bartender was approached about this issue, he claimed that the many people that were all at once telling him the beer was off, including myself, don't understand craft beer and that's how its supposed to smell and taste...so for your wanker bartender that doesn't truly understand craft beer, here's an honest review of your beer.
Look- nice golden hue, thin white head falls quickly and leaves little to no lacing on the glass, almost acceptable carbonation but still undercarbed
Smell- smelled terrible of stale cardboard and a sharp hint of rotten walnuts/pecans that makes your nose and head have a natural withdrawal reflex away from the glass, because your body knows it's not really that drinkable
Taste- One sip and you know this is a batch that should have been dumped, but the owners chose to serve it instead of taking the loss that any other reputable brewery would have taken! Extremely overwhelming astringent rotten nut meat invades your oral cavity, coating it with a layer of filth that water and time can't remove...you immediately know this is one of the worst beers ever served to you and that you'll unfortunately still be tasting this garbage for hours with the odd film that remains for an uneasy amount of time.
Feel- have you heard about that residual disgusting astringent rotten walnut film that coats your mouth and palate for an uneasily long time yet...
Overall- This is hands down one of the worst 3 beers I've ever been served (in 25 years and over 2500 different beers) by one of the worst brewery staff I've ever experienced. Somebody needs to be held accountable for this disgustingness, that's for sure!!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
