Sampling a cold growler poured into a snifter. The beer pours a clear mahogany color with a fizzy khaki colored dense head of .5 cm foaming up. The foam fades away pretty quickly to a thin edge layer. The aroma is lots of malt, caramel roasted malt, some hazelnut notes and a bit of dark chocolate. The nose is pretty complex but is all malt and the alcohol is well hidden as well, which makes sense with a 6% brew.
The first sip reveals an average body with gentle rolling carbonation and a smooth texture. The beer gives a malty flavor of caramel and toffee with hints of brown sugar and again hazelnut. The hops do not show in the flavor profile either.
This brew is easy to drink and features a big malty profile. A solid scottish ale that I would say is in the 60 shilling range. Very drinkable and straightforward. Well done.

Good Scottish Ale with good color and flavors. Needs a little more body and I think this one is complete. I will be interested to see how this one evolves over time.
