No can date
Pours a med fizzy bubbly 1/2 finger head with moderate retention, little lacing, crystal clear tan-golden color
Nose brings some grainy pilsner malt, not much for depth or complexity, a little bready dough and corn, light herbal hop notes
Taste more cereal grain, very bready cracker dough like, even biscuity, to the point I almost think there is Vienna malt in there somehow, cereal and some pilsner malt flavors, a touch of corn, light herbal hops with med-lighter bitterness, a touch fruity as well, drier finish with med bitterness, herbal mild spicy hops, a touch fruity as well, lots more cracker and bready malts
Mouth is med bod, soft lager at least, med foamy carb
Overall this was not really a Helles, just like a German lager with some very bready biscuity malts in there almost Vienna malt level, hops were OK, soft lager was OK, also a little fruity character that feels out of place, but malts just didn't match the style

Poured from a growler filled yesterday, into the test mug
A - Orange honey color, excellent clarity, a frothy cap of white loose knit resides throughout the entire experience.
S - Earthy grains, some nutty elements, floral hops are grassy and compliment the earthy grain, A yeasty dark bread rising is buried in there as well.
T - Malt and hops interplay is spot on. Lightly toasted dark bread, a bit of Earthy herbal thread. The interplay is quite something, no wandering to far out of bonds.
M - Medium in body, semi sweet start quickly yields to a correcting bitterness, the finish is superbly clean and has a dry buckwheat taste.
O - A very good lager from these very talented brewers, I appreciate the nod to Franconian lager in the description. As a Helles category it is a little darker. Soft water adds complexity, very enjoyable

Light amber color, darker than most Helles beers. Crystal clear. Short lived head but it leaves webby lace.
The smell is a bit stale reminiscent of a brewery floor. There's some soured crystal malt. It smells like a Märzen.
More toasted malt than most Helles beers. This gives it a nutty flavor. It is still a bit sour. Decent body with a typical effervescence for the style. The finish is predominantly malty but it isn't overly sweet.
