Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours motor oil black with light brown head. The nose is big roasted malts, coffee, tobacco, sweet dark fruit, and molasses. The taste is bitter roasted malts mixed with sweet fruit and brown sugar. Molasses, black licorice, sticky toffee, coffee grounds, tobacco, leather, and charred wood. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Aftertaste is bitter oak. Dry. Overall, a great stout.

On tap at Spindle 11/17/2018. Clean, milky pouring stout, jet black. Nice, mocha head which keeps a bit. Light bodied to the maximum. No booze at all despite 11%. Pecans/nuts. Quite mellow. Not much going on here, you could get somebody unsuspecting very drunk in my opinion.

Had on Draft while at Spindletap. Overall very impressed. Look was night black. Taste was of dark chocolate and slight alcohol taste. Overall an excellent beer.

A: Pours an impressive opaque black color. A dense one finger tan head forms and gently recedes. Rings of lace are left behind.
S: Black liquorice, tar, even kind of ashy like. Roast, coffee, chocolate. Lots going on here. Which makes it a little busy, but also interesting at the same time.
T: Again, lots going on, and becomes almost overwhelming. Big roasted malts, coffee, chocolate. Then that black liquorice and tar. Impressive in how big this is.
M/O: A big full body with moderate carbonation. That just makes this sticky and resin like. This is really big, while enjoyable especially in small doses, it does become a bit of a chore to finish after a while.
A big bruiser that is best enjoyed in small pours IMO. A well done Russian Imperial Stout, that is just a touch over barring for me. Still enjoyable, and something I can come back to if in the mood. Fans of the Brash stouts should love this.
