A: Pours a dark black color, with a little bit of ruby/brown around the edges. At first a beige head rises to one finger. That recedes quickly with no lace left behind.
S: Roasted malts up front, with some coffee. A bit of acrid smoke and almost a metallic aroma.
T: Like the nose roasted malts up front. Though not a lot of nuance. Acrid coffee and smoke, with some metallic flavors. Bitterness from the roasted malt and smoke lingers on.
M/O: A light to medium body. Pretty thin and lack luster really, not much carbonation that I can tell and a rough scratch dryness lingers. Pretty average, not something I am really going to come back to all that often.
I am assuming from the name and flavors I get that they smoked the malt. I couldn't find that info on their website, but I am pretty confidant that is what this is. Which, to me has given it a harsh acrid character that I am not a fan of, and there is really not a lot of depth to the malt flavors anyway. Just kind of average.
