500 ml bottle into a snifter. Had 8/12/22.

Pours a hazy copper color, with a brief head and a little soapy lacing. Aromas of caramel m butterscotch, malt, bourbon- more as it warms, some oak and char. Flavors of bourbon, caramel, malt, light plums, some herbal hop bitterness. Smooth, a good medium body that’s on the lighter side, appropriately carbonated.

Great aroma, a very good flavor that could be a little more intense. Lighter overall for the style, but very enjoyable.

Opaque lighter brown with a tan cap. Scotch, raisin, barley, toffee, molasses, and plum nose. Taste is more barrel focused, barley, prune, and semi-toasted toffee. Feel is warm, thinner but smooth and barley snarl is solid on the finish.

Sitting here in the basement with no one around! That never happens. Ah. 500ML, classy matte bottle, to open the evening.

The pour is all clay-stained liquid that looks almost like beer. Nose brings bourbon & toffee & leather. Love the smell of leather. Reminds me of my first brown leather jacket about 103 years ago.

Ingrained 3 is a heavy, boozy bitch (HBB). Like the nose heavy toffee & barrel dominate, along with battered old leather, prunes, dried wood, finishing with a light earthiness. Full, dry. I might have wanted to share this with the wife. Her loss.

This HBB ™ doesn’t quite cross the threshold into the top tier, but still a very good barleywine.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a hazy, almost murky dark orange brown with a quarter finger khaki head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of biscuit and dry caramel malt, malted milk, dates, figs, oak and mild whiskey. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A deep, rich barleywine base that leans to the biscuit malt profile rather than plum fruit. Still has good fig and date dried fruit character. The single malt barreling sets this one apart, with the drier, lightly smokey flavors of that style of whiskey rather than the more common bourbon barrels. The hints in this barleywine suggest that this is a quite nice single malt and the barrel character is fine. A well brewed and barreled English style barley wine. Cool black coated bottle is classy but not as annoying as waxing, I wouldn't mind this catching on as a big ale style bottle. Overall, nicely done.
