A- Pours a very rich mahogany brown color, that shows some slight clarity....perhaps with some amber hues happening around the ring at the top. The head is medium tan in coloration, starts off well (about 2 fingers thick), but it does dissipate quickly, ending up as a swirling wispy patchwork of islands, but there is a thick-ish ring of foam around the inside of the glass. The carbonation seems to be somewhat mellow and the lacing seems creamy, however, it does slide rather fast back into the brew. Overall its nothing to write home about in the looks department but nothing looks out of place either.

S- Aromas of milk chocolate, dark toffee richness, slightly burnt almond, cocoa powder, salted caramel sweetness, and perhaps a touch of blackstrap molasses....very nice typical brown ale aromas! The finish is slightly dry and astringent but still shows the general character of the brown ale sweetness.

T- Flavors follow suit to the aromas for the most part....the chocolate becomes darker and leans more into cocoa powder flavors.....mildly creamed dark roast coffee, roasted almond slivers, caramel malt sweetness, warm dark toffee, blackstrap molasses and a slightly honeyed finish, that rounds out some Earthy dryness and mildly bitter hop cones.

M/O- The body of this one is medium....just slightly leaning into the lighter end of the spectrum, and the carbonation is actually quite smooth here, which is welcome, allowing the flavors to shine on the palate. The drinkability is good, however, I find it somewhat sticky on the palate and one can is good enough for me in a sitting. Would pair well with a sticky toffee pudding dessert in my opinion....overall a decent brew and I'd have it again!

On tap at Pocock Brewing Company in Santa Clarita, CA.

Pours an almost opaque super dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, honey, nut, and earth aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, nut, earth, char, and metallic flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that is decent, but the metallic taste isn't too pleasant.

Serving type: on tap.
