On tap at Pocock Brewing Company in Santa Clarita, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, earth, char, and slight vanilla aromas. Taste is much the same with cocoa powder, earth, and char flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid flavors, but the slight vanilla aroma I am getting makes the smell slightly better.
Serving type: on tap.
