Guava Milkshake

Pours an opaque orange with a hint of hazy transparency. Head formation is a finger in height, and white in color. Head retention is mild. Aroma is a big explosion of tropical fruits, citrus, guava, lactose, and biscuit malts. It draws the nose in for another whiff, and immediately greets the senses with bold tropical fruits and citrus yet again. Flavor profile is tropical fruits - guava, papaya, and mango, followed by a slightly earthy, biscuit malt. Lactose is present throughout, adding another layer of sweetness. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a large, grainy texture. There is a bit of chalky residue left on the tongue after the flavor profile concludes. Overall, a splendid NE IPA with an attentive focus on tropical fruits. Lactose can be hit or miss big-time in beers, but serves this beer fairly well.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 12oz bottle.
