Pours a dark nutty brown color with a muddy, opaque transparency. Head is a finger of tan foam. Aroma is pine, resin, and herbal hops with roasty and bready malts just beyond. After the initial evergreen forest opening, it shifts into coconut and light tropical fruits. Coconut is pretty strong. Flavor profile is pine, resin, herbal, and tropical fruit hops. Coconut comes online right after the first sip, and lingers with the last notes. It's certainly a unique flavor profile, with roasty malts concluding the journey. Mouth feel is creamy after some initial light silt. Thickness is medium. Overall, a bit odd, but functional. Coconut and tropical fruits add some unique depth to an otherwise steadfast black IPA.
