Clear amber brew looks inviting with a big pile of foam in the Maredsous goblet. Light body and lively mouthfeel but with a distinct malty feeling. Very aromatic with orange and lime peel. I think the hops are just a little overdosed. The fruity flavors are overshadowed by the resiny intensity.
This is robustly bitter with a distinct grapefruit peel finish. I'd say it tastes more like a classic IPA as far as the bitterness goes, though the brewery rates at IBUs at only 37. Overall it's a mouthful of highly drinkable and highly hoppy brew. From the 32 oz crowler can purchased at the brewery restaurant next to UW at Bothell.
