On tap at the brewery into a nonic-style glass. Reviewed from notes date April 29, 2017.
A-The beer is quite hazy, which I assume is intentional, but I still think hazy beers are ugly. Color is a pale yellow straw. Head is short and white with an OK level of retention. Lots of fine lacing is left on the glass.
S-The aroma is pleasant and flavorful. It is hop heavy with bright notes of citrus, lemon in particular, and bread crust. A little green grass flavor too. Bitterness is light and the beer errs toward the juicy side of the spectrum.
T-The taste tracks the smell closely. Mostly hop flavors with mildly tart lemon notes, some green leafy flavors that suggest fresh-cut grass, and mild aspirin-powder bitterness. Some bread crust and cracker malt flavors, but nothing overpowers here.
M-The feel is softer, but as is often the case with these types of beers, it is a little bit on the watery side. A moderate carbonation keeps it active on the palate.
O-This is a pretty good, new-school pale. It will appeal to those looking for an easy-drinking-but-juicy ale. It is just interesting enough to keep me thinking about having another.
