Can't see through that bad boy. Somewhere in the peach/apricot/pale orange range. A rather vigorous pour yieldsa tight little white head that settles in to a ring pretty quick. Great lacing.
Soft fruits and some citrus. Some overripe fruits.
Bruised bananas and overripe fruit... those decadent hop characteristics that the new wave of IPAs seem to focus on. But still a nice dry bitter finish to give it some balance and depth. I don't really get much of the 'fresh' character that I'd look for in a FH beer though... like once I dig around a bit I can find it, but it seems almost subsumed within that larger bruised/overripe... I almost want to describe it as booziness, but it's not really boozy. But that kind of decadence.
Gets better the further into the howler I get... part of that is the depth coming out as it warms, but part I think is just getting a chance to kind of dig in and see what all's going on in there. Still has a fair amount of that almost sickly sweet character that doesn't really appeal to me from this new breed of the style, but a lot there to like as well, and overall I can dig it.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
