a not quite clear pale ale here that features simcoe in a very prominent way, single hop or not. its juicy and bright and has a high climax, less obvious grapefruit character to it than i usually get from simcoe in this context, and with some fleshy vegetal freshness here too, but no bite at all, very little bitterness through it, and even some honey sweetness from the malt, real simple stuff, but this is another good beer from these guys. somewhat more tropical fruity than i expected it to be, sweet mango and tangerine notes in the middle before the weediness and oily character kick in. its maybe somewhat softer and less aggressive in terms of alpha acid than i have come to know this hop to be, but its a neat, almost softer side of it, and i think the flavor it adds to this beer is both unique and awesome. the malt balance is nice here, and the drinkability is high. these guys are making some really nice beer, all very professionally done and somewhat innovative, even in their simpler recipes, this is a real nice session type pale ale with fresh and direct flavors to enjoy and appreciate.
