Old Klaverack Brewery

I visited the location in Hudson. It’s in a strip mall. I need to give a review of the OG location. The vibe was generic, the beer was good, selection a little light.

So chill and friendly. Even in COVID just hanging in the parking lot. That DIY aesthetic with wonderful beer.

We absolutely loved this place. We stopped in on a snowy winter's night (when the roads were pretty nasty), and came into this gem of a little place. Their Spookrock IPA is fantastic. They brew right on location. We met the family behind the brewery tending bar and working in back -- so down to earth, likable, and knowledgeable. A true gem, we can't wait to go back.

Small farm brewery far enough off the beaten track to have no cell phone coverage. Park on grass, short walk to small barn tasting room. rustic wood paneled room with small service bar opposite entry and a few tables on left and counter seating on right. 8 well assorted beers on tap, and they fill 16oz crowlers - sweet. Also outdoor picnic area and bbq smoker, smelt good.

 

Old Klaverack is an interesting small brewery that seems to be set up on the family homestead. As you come up the drive there's a parking lot on the left, and a field of hops to the right. There's a house behind the lot, an area straight ahead with tables and chairs, and then a wooden shack to the right that houses the brewery and tasting room.

Stopping into the tasting room I found that they had 6 of their own beers on tap, and 2 guest beers. I tried three of them and thought they were all good although the Spookrock IPA was probably the best.

It was nice to sit outside on a warm afternoon and just pass some time relaxing, but the inside of the tasting room is nice as well, if a little small. Or, a lot small.

I love to find interesting breweries, and this one stands out in my memory. The beers may not be the greatest but you won't be disappointed, and if you're in the area I'd say it's definitely worth a stop.
