Back again after missing it last year. A locally made version of a style that is hard but not impossible to find. The Troegenator is a good exception. From a brewery (Key) that I have a lot of respect for. Oh yeah, the review:
Clear, cola colored appearance with a small off white head and little lacing. Caramel sets the stage for the dominating malt aroma. Can dig out a few other attributes, like a hint of chocolate and a bit of dark fruit. Malts remain the focus of the taste as well. Toasted grains, some sweetness, a passing nod to the dark fruit, all without much input from the hops. Mouthfeel is smooth but neither creamy or harsh. Medium-to-full bodied; modestly carbonated
