The colour is dark brown, almost black. The liquid is clear. The finger thick brown head sinks down very slowly.
The smell is dry with distinct notes of Christmas spices. IT smells a bit like Swedish mulled wine… Black malt sourness and some sweet liquorice.
The taste is spicy with Christmas-y notes of cloves, ginger and nutmeg. Burned malt and a light tartness. Wheat dough and growing hay-ish bitterness. Light to medium body. The aftertaste is balanced with spices and light sweetness, clean bitterness and a tart lingonberry note in the finish. The finish is bitter with some wheat dough.
The mid to light carbonation is fresh with small long-lived bubbles. The liquid is semi-thick.
This one reminds me of some other beer, but I cannot recall which one. It is a tad too spicy.
