Poured from bomber into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep golden color with a one finger head of fluffy white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a good sum of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a sweet candied sugar smell mixed with a big doughy aroma. There is also a while lot of clove, coriander, and yeast, giving a very delicious aroma overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a somewhat doughy flavor that has a good hit of caramel, light fruits, candied sugar and a bit of yeast. As the taste moves forward, more sweetness of candied sugar and some light fruits come to the tongue, all while some spice and yeast become more pronounced. As the taste advances toward the end, the spice of clove and coriander really ramp up, and with some grass, hay, and a light (and somewhat surprising) slightly boozy tastes, it leaves one with a rather flavorful and enjoyable flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is somewhat on the higher side. For the mix of flavors, the moderate abv, and robust, yet drinkable flavors, the feel is awesome and makes this a very enjoyable drinker.
Overall – A rather robust and flavorful Belgian blond, which has a flavor profile well beyond a brew of only 6.3 % abv. Nice, flavorful, and enjoyable. One to certainly try if you get the chance.
