they call this one a golden wheat ale, and it certainly is bright golden in the glass, albeit still cloudy, perhaps the name designates it not being a hefeweizen or a wit, yeast mostly neutral, not that its filtered, because it certainly doesnt appear to be. a rather uniquely nuanced beer though too, not just a throw away pale wheat, its slightly floral on the hop side, maybe something german there, soft spice, elderflower, clover honey with the little bit of residual sweetness, that sort of thing, no real bitterness, nice flavor. the wheat has some flavor of its own, not sure if its local montana wheat or what, but it seems fresher than most, full of character, and has an almost creamy body, impressive extraction of its essence here. as it warms i get a little sweet citrus too, and it has a light linger while still being refreshing because the yeast is minimal and the carbonation is rushing and fast. not the most dramatic beer on their menu when i was in, but a lovely one to sit and sip on creek side at their wonderful property on one of the first nice days of spring. pure glory!
