these guys are relatively new in the boise market, cool to find this on tap, their space back in montana is fantastic. this is crisp and yellow and snappy, and retains more old world grain character than most of the domestic examples of the style, even to the point of seeming slightly heavy as these go, biscuity, white bread, proofing dough, but its bright and clean and overall an excellent pizza beer, which is how we enjoyed it, best when freezing cold. nice clarity and overall refinement on this, almost an inch of head, pure white and lasting pretty good. it has a deeply earthy mineral profile giving it some european authenticity along with the malt, and its floral on the hops, less bitter than some of these, but still on the hoppy side, just a little softer there. it has a smooth feel with really uplifting carbonation, it pops and fizzes and carries a lot of life. maybe just a little robust for all day pounding, but id still pursue that, and i think on the whole the quality is a step forward for them compared to their more popular offerings, this is really dialed in, full grain character type lager, still old worldy, id drink this one again for sure. hope to see more around town from these guys, this pils will not disappoint.
