delicious cold ipa from their idaho location, which won a world beer cup medal this spring, pretty sick, experimental ipa category, must feel good! the beer is lovely, packed with nelson, way clean to drink on, terpene forward and thiol driven but maybe not done with engineered yeast, just really good hops and hop products, as well as technique of course, which is on point here. i like how minimal this beer is, yellow enough and clear enough to look like a light lager, really bright and appealing, new school all the way, total absence of any real malt character, whats here is merely a vehicle for these hops, but its way light, high headed from the keg too, pretty pour. the nose and taste are obviously southern hemisphere. nelson hits with its usual pineapple, sauvignon blanc, and white floral layers, a little weedy in a high end sativa way, tangerine and maybe kumquat too, some definite citrus in play, dry as a bone, majorly aromatic but not too much, green grape, pear, and even an almost lilac thing, pollinator appeal to this. its got some mid palate oily intensity but never gets too bitter, its tropical but not juiced out and obnoxious, the true essence of the hops really come through. and i think there is beauty in the simplicity of it all that is very nicely highlighted by the cold fermentation, which gives it a back end snap and lightning quick finish. mellow body for its strength, not overdosed and palate wrecking, distinctive and clean, real drinkable, highly carbonated, and something these guys should really be proud of. among the best ive had from either highlander location to date and worthy of its accolades...

After spending the day working, it is time to settle into a refreshing IPA. Infinite Glow is a cold IPA with. a slew of hops. I am using an IPA glass, and the serving temperature is 44 degrees. The pour created a frothy, airy, three-fingered white head with excellent retention. The slow dissipation left chunks of lacing on the glass. The beer's color is pale straw with light golden hues, clear, and has an SRM of 4. The appearance of the beer is above average for this style.
Nosing the glass, I detect light malts, white wine musk, a dank basement, a hint of grass, tangerines, light grapefruit, peaches, white pepper, herbal notes, earthy aromas, and a subtle mango note.
Sipping the beer, I taste lightly toasted malts, biscuits, crackers, bread, wine musk, gooseberries, tangerines, black pepper, grapefruit, subtle tropical notes, earthy, a hint of malty sweetness, and some dankness.
The mouthfeel is astringent, finishing dry and clean. The body is medium-light and has medium-plus carbonation.
Final Thought: Infinite Glow is a delightful beer with a solid malt bill supporting a hefty hop profile. The hop combination worked well, creating a lovely beer to sip on this warm summer night.
