another fun one from the burgeoning idaho location, a slovenian pale lager as they are calling it, done with hops from slovenia, which is rad, light and pils-like, distinctive and summery, some structure to it too, yet very well lagered, near dry, and drinkable, nice for this time of year, sort of feels springy and floral and easy, but its unique enough from these uncommon hops, whatever they are, to really stand out a bit, yummy stuff. blonde and pretty well polished looking from the tap, lively and all, sudsy, fresh in the nose, without a super robust overall aromatic but some nuance from these hops, white flowers, cut grass, almost a rice lager element to it, pils malt based it seems, some european authenticity there, packing a fair bit into a light drinker, no doubt. the flavor has very little hop bitterness, just a slightly doughty and familiar earthy lager yeast complexion, and some quickly resolved middle sweetness in the wildflower honey range, then the hops, which hit with trace red berry, dehydrated orange wheels, and herbal tea. unique but only subtly, still a pils type at its heart, not overly hopped, just made distinctive in this way, nice coppery sort of minerality too which brings just a touch of quickness to the back end along with some mild hop bitterness and that white bread yeast thing, cohesive and flavorful, refreshing and drinkable, vibrant carbonation is key as well. love to see the fun ingredients and the style playfulness with this, the idaho location has given an unbelievable facelift to a old school or even frankly antiquated brand, super cool stuff coming out of here right now! just wish we had more details about the hops...
