To celebrate the 6th anniversary of the opening of Garage Beer Co we wanted to have a bit of fun so we thought why not brew a DIPA that is dry hopped with one hop to celebrate each year. We selected 6 of the most straight up fruity, juicy hops that we have been most happy with throughout the year to give us a booming DIPA that is straight up fruit punch! We have made every effort to make this the softest, most juicy beer we have brewed this year. Starting with a soft water profile, and malt base of extra pale pilsner and plenty of wheat for fluffiness and just enough oats for that characteristic silky profile the platform was layed for the hop attack. Stacked with Mosaic, Citra, Azacca Cryo, Bru-1, Galaxy, and HBC 692.

De Labirratorium. En copa Teku. Jugando a The Touryst. Muy buena forma de celebrar el aniversario. Dipa corpulenta y sedosa a rebosar de fruta de hueso fresca y tanto con el alcohol como el amargor muy bien integrados. Incluso se queda corta

Pours a hazy, deep orange coloration with a medium, creamy, lasting head that leaves tufts of wispy lace as it slowly recedes. Smells of light biscuity malt and tropical/citrus hops, with notes of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, grapefruit and orange. Taste is an excellent balance of light biscuity malt and quite fruity, juicy, slightly bitter dank and resinous hops, with vibrant tropical and citrus notes of passion fruit, mango, papaya, pineapple, grapefruit, orange and lime peel, with just a hint of pine and herbal weed as well. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some passion fruit, mango, orange and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is an excellent example of what I like to think of as the West Coast New England IPA, which is pretty much my favorite variety of the style. It starts out a little sweet, with quite juicy and expressive tangy tropical and zesty citrus notes, but then turns rather bitter in the finish, with some lightly dank and resinous accents rounding this out very nicely and providing a great bit of a certain bite in the aftertaste. I really love the varied fruit notes and interplay of juicy and bitter notes here, along with a very nice, soft and pillowy mouthfeel. The Untappd rating really doesn't do this justice, but I guess that most people just don't like any bitter or resinous notes in their fruit juice. Pity, but this certainly makes for a worthy anniversary beer in my humble opinion.
