In the spirit of tenacity and camaraderie, Mettle was first created to highlight the milestone of our inaugural year as a brewery. With the intense dry-hop duo of Amarillo and Citra, this medium-bodied Double IPA beckons with aromatics of pineapple, mango, orange, and a hoppy dankness. A fusion of orange, melon, light pineapple, and a subtle pithiness round out the palate with a smooth, pillowy mouthfeel. We continue to brew Mettle in recognition of our devoted following of hopheads that have supported us from the very beginning.
MALT: American 2-row Barley, Valley Danko Rye, Valley Triticale, Valley Wheat, Dextrine, Dextrose

Rating #1,000 for me after 10 years on Beer Advocate.
Canned 2 months ago. Mettle pours a hazy gradient of yellow-orange with a pinky finger of off-white head.
The nose is reminiscent of mango creamsicle and orange PEZ candy.
The taste is orange, grapefruit, and mango. Medium bitterness, subtle malt, sweetness, and booze.
The mouthfeel opens with zippy carbonation and finishes medium for the style.
Overall, very good.

Pale, milky yellow color, opaque; thick, loosely sudsy white head, long-lasting. Very nice sweet, citrusy nose; powdered sugar and oats combined with a rather fresh citrus aura. Rather brash and metallic bitterness overall with a dull, oat-like sweetness. Heavy body; smooth and velvety; semi-dry.
I can't figure things with the Trillium beers I've had of late. They look great, generally have a great smell, but the taste seems pretty much the same regardless of the name. This beer follows along these lines. It certainly isn't bad per se, just a rather sharp and harsh bitterness with a lightly sweet and acidic citrus flavor offset with a low-key oat-like cereal grain backbone. Well, I'm glad to have tried this one (and the others I picked up a few days ago), but these are essentially one-and-done beers for me.
ABV: 8.4%; pouring temperature: 46.0 ℉; canning info: 05/21/25

Pours a very hazy mango color with a fluffy white head that provides nice splotches of lacing. Beautiful hazy.
The nose is dank citrus, especially mango, ripe orange, and pineapple, which is replicated exactly on the taste and augmented by a little creamy oat flavor on the finish.
The mouthfeel is full and pillowy, perfect for this big NEDIPA. The dank in this one works exceptionally well, IMHO, to a world class level, again IMHO.

Can poured into a Mountain Rambler Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces beautifully.
S: Ripe zesty citrus, floral notes, tropical and stone fruit, resinous pine, a touch grassy, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Bright citrus, grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon, tropical and stone fruit, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, peach, and hints of guava and melon, resinous slightly spicy pine, floral and grassy notes, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate, dangerously drinkable for its size.
O: This one's a winner. Bright and zesty, yet sneaky big. Really well executed brew.
