Sunshower is our Super Saison, a high-gravity farmhouse ale inspired by the ethereal refreshing mid-summer moments when we experience both rainfall and the heat of the sun in New England. Similar to our flagship Trillium, the mouthfeel is light and effervescent with a bright, golden hue. We allow the fermentation temperature to free-rise, resulting in a dry beer with strength and complexity. Layers of pepper and earthy characteristics that play nice with the crisp, smooth backbone of a pilsner and wheat malt bill.
Dry Hopped with Citra, this iteration of Sunshower leads with a nose of fresh bread, lemongrass, and a hint of bubble gum. Following the nose, a lemon forward palate with a touch of honey.
MALT: Pilsner, White Wheat, Flaked Wheat
HOPS: Citra, Columbus

Growler from Canton.
Pours cloudy gold with a short head that quickly dies and zero lacing. Aromatics lead off with Citra dankness, clovey phenols and a bit of musty funk. Medium bodied with a creamy, soft mouthfeel but a bit chaulky. A bit of Belgian character on the palate but it's overshadowed by the hops. Mild notes of apple, bannana, cloves, and bubblegum run under grassy citrus. Some crackery malt follows through along with a trace of throat warmth. Finishes very dry with weed-rubbed biscuit ends and melon.
Tasty beer but too hoppy for a Saison. An excellent Belgian IPA though!

Hazy pale straw with an orangey hue. Two-plus fingers of airy, gold-tinted head. Modest, soapy lacing.
Big lemon peel in the nose, with a grassy, herbal note, slight yeast and slight soap behind.
Lemon, clementine, coriander, cut grass and a nice, oily bitterness fold over each other up front and mid-palate in the taste, followed by a fairly clean finish with just a little lingering citrus.
The feel reminds me of one of those expensive, designer fruit sodas. Fizzy without being over carbonated. Pretty hefty body, too.
There's just a hint of traditional saison flavors behind the all-out hop assault in this one, but the lemon and grass addition works really well. Great beer. 8/25/17 canned on date.
