Scaled is the first IPA brewed and packaged at our Canton, MA facility. In the Spring of 2018, we implemented recent learnings from our Permutation program to breathe new life into this milestone beer. The newly developed fermentation profile and grist coupled with foundational elements from a larger hop charge of legacy hop varieties take this IPA to the next level! El Dorado, Citra, and Columbus hops create an aromatic blast of juicy mango, pineapple, and lemon candies. Pineapple, sweet orange and pink grapefruit flesh follow on a medium bodied palate that finishes with a soft, mild to moderate bitterness.

MALT: American 2-row Barley, White Wheat, Flaked Wheat, Dextrine, C-15

HOPS: El Dorado, Citra, CTZ

Pours a hazy orange with 1F head and moderate lacing.

Smells of slightly dank , piney and grassy hops with citrus.

Tastes of lightly dank resinous hops, tart grapefruit, orange, lemon and tangy wheat with a mildly bitter finish.

Medium light body and carbonation. Smooth, dry mouthfeel.

This brew is mostly on the dank, tart and bitter side of juicy. Maybe too much of a hop bomb to same but not me.

From a 16oz can dated 10/12/21 into a tulip.

Pours an opaque pale yellowish orange with about two fingers of white head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving excellent lacing.

Smell is big on the nose-oranges, pineapple, tangerine, grass. On warming, there's a faint marijuana aroma.

Taste is a little disappointing compared to the nose. Muted citrus juice. Slight bitterness.

Soft but thin mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Bitter, slightly acidic aftertaste.

This is better than anything you can get off the shelf in the NEIPA style, but not my favorite Trillium beer.

Got another world-class juicer over here. Thanks to Evan for sending me a literal 4 pack of it.
Date on this can is 6/21/21, just old enough to not be too green. Perfect.
Parish Brewing globe stem.

One of the lighter Trilliums I've seen, it pours a juicy light blonde. Creamy head that only sticks around for a minute and dwindles to a loose pool of bubbles. When swirled, lacing forms in islands but does not stick, instead dripping alcohol legs down the walls of the globe.

Aroma is like an early morning walk in the woods. Dew, bright grass, evergreen tree and bark, some creamy orange julius action, taut and sharp pineapple, some grapefruit and pine, slight pale malt, slight white pepper. Stiffness is medium, it's looser than many other recent Trillium beers.

Flavor is here. It's killer. It's "da bomb". Their typical use of Columbus Tomahawk Zeus hop brings that rough earthy tone that keeps it from being orange juice. Still, it brings juice like you knew it would. Pithy white grapefruit assault right away, breakfast grapefruit juice, a hint of Chardonnay, slight white pepper, pithy orange, orange juice, pine and pine sap, moderate notes of woodsy bark, and finally a lupulin gland explosion that leaves juicy hop greenery all over the finish.

Feel is one of the most interesting I've had in an IPA in a long while. The hop oils/resins and the alcohol combine to form a buzzing, very much alive resinous coating that electrifies the tongue and sticks to the cheeks without being overpowering. It's really enjoyable. Lends a bit of Champagne dryness on the finish, making this one crisp juicer.

Overall, now that juice bombs are seemingly everywhere, Trillium is just another notch in the post (albeit a very tall notch). They continue to make killer beers, but the mystique and magic is far less now than it was back in 2015-2016. I'll never forget my first Congress Street. These NE beers were the bees' knees back then much like Pliney was 5 years earlier. I'm glad NE IPA has taken off, and I'm glad there are a select few breweries outside of New England that can get it right. Remember that there are more counterfeits of the style than there are actual bangers. Don't knock a NE IPA unless you've had one like this, and don't think you've had it unless you've actually had it. There's my beer snobbery for the night.

A great Trillium beer, not the best of theirs, but still superb.

Picked-up a four-pack of cans at Trillium in Canton for about seventeen dollars. My fortieth brew from these guys. This was fine, a bit bland, a miss for me.

lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, nice malts, with a really nice citrus complex (oranges, grapefruit, pineapple), nice little diesel. The taste is very nice, hoppy, nice maltness, really nice citrus complex (oranges, grapefruit, pineapple), nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, another very tasty brew from Trillium. Surprising sweetness on the middle of the tongue, but it's juicy, hop-like sweetness, not a malt-based one. Tree House is all the rage but I will shop/buy at Trillium every time I'm in the area....great brew!!
