Our newest hoppy American pale ale, Skimpy Sparrow, is the latest edition in our "Small Bird Series" of lower ABV offerings. The nose is an intense, complex fusion of pineapple, grapefruit pith, and woodsy hop aromatics. Citrus rind, grape jam, and lemon fill out the flavor profile, with a firm and long-lasting bitterness. Very dry and effervescent, light to medium bodied.

A really solid pale ale from these guys. Drinks really well with a nice mouthfeel. Trillium may have had a few down years but I feel like they are back on the tooof their game and most everything is very good to excellent. Would buy again and recommend

You’re like fishing and stuff. You are thinking Hemingway The Old Man And The Sea and stuff. But when you are out there, all you get is an ok tuna. Like, not even big brother. You got young brother who’s a bit dumb. That’s this beer.
*Over the course of drinking this beer, it has significantly improved. But I haven’t.

Had on tap at Canton. Pours hazy, orange gold in color with minimal head. Taste is lemon, lime and citrus candy. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly bitter. While I have enjoyed other small birds beers, this one just seems muddled and flavorless. Taste is that of a watered down New England pale ale. Trillium makes way better.

Milkshake cloudy, darker gold color. Double poured head but it settles rapidly leaving large bubbled streaks. These become rarer as the beer is consumed.
The smell is muddled and "dirty" with strong earth tones, grapefruit, and light berry notes.
The taste is cleaner with a more solid malt footing. The body is rich but the large-bubbled carbonation is notable. The finish is semisweet. The hop starts as black pepper spice which slowly grows creating a moderate aftertaste.

Not a bit of sweetness in the new American Pale. So good. Tons of cracker and grapefruit.
