Our latest collaboration with our Scandinavian friends at Amager Bryghus. Inspired by Danish wheat bread, this beer incorporates stone ground whole wheat flour in the mash to add a rustic, bready flavor. Candied orange, lemon and freshly baked bread permeate the nose. Complex flavors of tangerine peel, grape and rustic bread emerge on the palate, rounded out by a crisp and balanced finish.
MALT: 2-Row Malt, Wheat Malt, Dextrine, C-15, Maine Grains Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour
HOPS: Columbus, Citra, Amarillo

Canned 10/6/16; drank 10/20/16 @ Harvest Hop Haus.
Opaque yellow appearance.
Minimal white head; minimal lace.
Fresh wheat bread, lemon & dry fresh flower notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Lemon & dry wheat flavors up front; faint cane sugar notes on the finish.
Certainly unique; not amazing but worthy of a quaff.

Picked this up a long time ago, as the date on the bottom of the can read 10/6/16 with "GO TO BREAD" written underneath it. It's an old saying that beer is "liquid bread" and this was proof of that as it looked, tasted, and felt just like it's description. Yes, this was old but there wasn't a lot of sediment in it and though malty from being old, still had enough going for it that I enjoyed drinking this!
Lovely look to this as I poured it out - it appeared like honey with a wonderful glow to it as the liquid was somewhat opaque with a bit of haze in it. Plenty of head topped it off as there were hints of rings along the back side of my pint glass. Lots of lemon, spicy bread, wheat, and light citrus in the nose as the taste featured even more of those. Slick, juicy, and full of underlying honey stickiness, this had quite a taste as it was spicier than anything else that I've ever had from Trillium. Quite full in the mouthfeel, I had to pace myself through this and nearly needed a shot of water at the end as a chaser!
This didn't have a lot of booze in it either as the flavors were allowed to shine through, giving this a bright and rustic tone that enhanced the inherent bready spice that was this beer's backbone. Fun stuff that was different from the norm, I enjoyed this and nearly felt full after having it. Who knew that a meal in a can could be so tasty?

Poured from a 16oz can into a tulip glass. Thanks Mike for hooking me up with this.
Pours a golden body with tons of floaties. Extreme sediment.. but has been sitting for a while so this is understandable.
Aromas are fruity - lots of tropical fruits, citrus zest, pineapple, mango. Taste matches the nose - tons of tropical fruits, citrus, sweet pineapple, barely any bitterness. Finish is clean, easy drinker.
Wow, this beer is still really good even after sitting for a couple months. Underrated to say the least.
