Permutation is our experimental series of small batch offerings, showcasing the unique visions and innovative concepts developed by our production crew.
For this edition, we present a complex, nuanced American Wild Ale fermented with our native New England mixed culture. Permutation Series #4 spent 14 months in red wine barrels before being blended with moscato juice for secondary fermentation. Soft, subtle tannins permeate the palate, complimented by notes of pear and a dry, mineral driven finish.

750ml bottle.
Pours clear gold with a minimal head, zero retention, and a few dots of lacing. Soured nectarine with grape must in the nose with hints of white wine and lime. Light bodied with a tacky, slickish mouthfeel. Acid-washed citrus on the palate with shades of cider vinegar and faint honey. Finishes vineous and sour with plenty of spoiled nectarine.
Nice beer but not getting any red wine barrel character.

This one pours a golden clear yellow, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like white grape, stone fruit, white wine, pear, and light acidity.
The taste is basically similar- there's a ton of sweet and sour grape flavor, lots of white wine, and a little bit of acidity that doesn't linger very long.
This is light bodied, crisp, and fairly clean.
Most of Trillium's wild ales don't have a ton of complexity, but they're definitely tasty.

Tart, crisp, juicy, dry. Incredible beer. I'll say that right off the bat.
Golden effervescent body with a thin, soapy head. Active bubbles stream up from the bottom of the glass. Beautiful clarity.
Aroma of grape must, lemon, green apple and oak. There's a juicy, mouth watering element to the smell that kick starts the palate.
Taste is white grapes, lemon, pear, smidge of nectarine, green apple. Perfect balance of tart and slightly sweet.
Dry throughout. The moscato juice adds an element of juicy complexity that melds so well with the barrel character. Outstanding beer.
