Our series of New-England saisons continues with Lineage Oat, a wild ale featuring Valley Malt Oats. This grain provides a subtle and balancing backbone to compliment the complex characteristics derived from aging in oak barrels with our wild yeast blend. Lineage Oat is light to medium bodied and pours a bright, yellow-golden hue. The nose omits toasted oak aromatics complemented with flavors of buckwheat, tart citrus and white grape.

Look - poured relatively flat, a goldish color
Smell - a little sour and acidic, but not strong.
Taste - same as above but I'm not going to say it was good or anything. As usual when it warmed it it the sweet spot. Middle of the road on the tart / acid scale, didn't taste any oat like stuff. Might have been much better when fresh.
Feel - pretty bad, lacked carbo but otherwise medium to full bodied.
Either I sat on this too long, which usually isn't the case for Trillium sours, or my bottle had gone bad in some way. I'm suspecting the seal might not have been great as the carbonation was there, but didn't pop like at typical Trillium at this age. Too bad was I was looking forward to this, Trillium's usually age really well.

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy honeyed golden color with a modest head that fades rather quickly; spotty lacing
Smell: Funky aromatics, with green apple, white wine grape and lemon tones; there is an herbal aspect too
Taste: Acetic tartness forward, with a combination of white wine grape, green apple and lemon flavors; the funk and oak build, through the middle; very cider-y in the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with low carbonation
Overall: This beer has matured nicely, though I hadn't meant to sit on it for so long; needs a bit more carbonation, though
Thanks, PhineasMcClintock, for the opportunity

Drank this at the brewery today along with the Wakefield imperial stout collab; this is officially my 100th Trillium beer rated on BA; very good wild ale, Trillium seems to get the idea of balance in their wilds and sours
