Our signature porter, brewed with oats, has a soft, velvety mouthfeel with layers of chocolate and roasted malt on the palate. The ominously black appearance belies this porter's approachability; Pot & Kettle is satisfyingly smooth and nourishing, but never lumbering or heavy. While not sweet, dark fruit notes, such as cherries, dates, and raisins, reveal themselves as the beer warms. This special batch spent 6 months resting in Buffalo Trace barrels lending additional notes of vanilla, oak, & bourbon.

On-tap 4/1/2017 at the brewery in Canton, MA, served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a deep black color, with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains strong bourbon, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of coffee, chocolate and strong bourbon. Then a hearty roasted malt character comes in along with some background flavors of licorice and dark fruit. The hops presence is very mild but complementary and brings a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, light-to-medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Very tasty, goes down quite easily, not too filling, good kick, very good representation of style, this is a very nice beer to drink for a while.

Had this in Canton today and I can still taste the cherry undertones. As an oatmeal porter its a home run if your like them sweet and smooth like I do. Trilliums dark beer's are underrated.

L - mostly black with brown edges. No head
S - leather and dark fruits, slight bourbon and a touch of booze
T - bourbon is a little stronger. Dark fruits, some cherry, black licorice or anise
F. - pretty flat. Bourbon is cloying, but not for long
O - not enough barrel character, but the aging still made the base beer disappear.
