Sunshower is our Super Saison, a high-gravity farmhouse ale inspired by the ethereal refreshing mid-summer moments when we experience both rainfall and the heat of the sun in New England. Similar to our flagship Trillium, the mouthfeel is light and effervescent with a bright, golden hue. We allow the fermentation temperature to free-rise, resulting in a dry beer with strength and complexity. Layers of pepper and earthy characteristics that play nice with the crisp, smooth backbone of a pilsner and wheat malt bill.

A: slight haze; deep gold in color; 1 finger white head that receded to a splotchy cap; nice lacing;

T: balanced between orange and clove; a little peach as well; a bit of bubble gum toward the end; mild bitterness on the finish;
M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish; hides the ABV well;
O: nice complexity; dangerously easy to drink; very enjoyable;

16oz can, willi becher glass. Pours a cloudy, light copper body, one finger thick white head, fair retention, bit of lacing. Smell is mild grainy biscuit, touch of spice, light hefe-like clove, fair bit of grapefruit zest as well. Flavour is what the nose promises but with a warming heat. Bit of spicy saison-ish, almost like a wit- touch of coriander maybe. Grapefruit zest, a bit of lemon, grainy sweetness, touch of clove and banana. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly heavier than I'd like but still very good. Good carbonation. Again, warming heat on the finish, a bit more obvious than I'd like, but perhaps some of the spices play a role in that too. Solid, bigger saison, almost like a big hoppy wit.

Tasted in a Spiegelau saison glass from a one pint can on August 11, 2018. Look is bright gold. Smell and taste is pepper and earth. Feel is dry with a crisp, smooth backbone of a pilsner and wheat malt bill.
