On tap at Trillium Brewing Company in Canton, MA.
This one pours a dark and deep black color, with a small head, and no lacing.
This smells bracingly boozy on the noze- the heat is on. There's boozy bourbon, bourbon soaked vanilla beans, chocolate fudge and syrup, and a lighter coffee aroma than most Trillium beers.
This is probably the booziest Trillium beer I've ever had. Underneath the onslaught, though, there is a fantastic base stout, with a great fudgy and caramelized residual sugar feel to it. The vanilla adds a sweet cake like feel to it, but also seems to amplify the booziness. There's a lot of coffee here than I'd expect- the vanilla dominates, added flavor-wise.
This is an extremely slow sipper, due to the big body and booziness. It's a bit syrupy, but not overly so, at least for the ABV we're talking about here.
This is a big boy beer for sure. Burly, brash, and unforgiving.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice brown foamy head. Aroma of floral coffee notes with subtle vanilla and bourbon notes with some black chocolate notes. Taste is a mix of floral coffee notes with some vanilla and bourbon notes, some black chocolate with residual sugar notes with no discernible bitterness. Body is full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. This is like latte beer.

Dark black body. Half finger offwhite head. Not much retention or lacing. Smell is dark chocolate, roasty coffee, fair bit of vanilla/marshmallow. Mild earthiness. A bit of milk chocolate as well. Flavour follows, with a bit more marshmallow sweetness towards the end, and on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium fuller bodied, creamy with marshmallow on the finish. A very solid and tasty adjunct stout.
